Russia/North Korea Create A Business Council



Russia's Relationship with North Korea have positively lunged two steps forward, all due to Moscow's establishment of a business council to co-operate with North Korea. A promising step in helping them obtain their trade goal of $1 billion.

><  2020... the expected date that annual trade amongst Moscow and Pyongyan will increase to a sum of $1 billion.

>< Russia shows a large interest in Kaesong Industrial park (North Korea). An area where 50,000 workers are employed, there are plans of an investment.


Statement made by Vladimir Strashko : (Industry Chamber/Russian Commerce Vice President)

"This is undoubtedly a new stage of business cooperation between Russia and North Korea, which will
significantly strengthen trade and economic relations between the two countries"




* This council is destined to help improve work on trade and investment by grouping companies of Russia with business partners of North Korea.

If we rewind back to last year, some time around June - Russia along side with North Korea declared the extension of their Trans-Siberia railway; this goes to show that relations are still flourishing between the two and will continue to do so.

* During May Vladimir Putin (Russia President) negated debt of North Korea within the soviet-era - 90% of debt was forgiven, all of this executed by the law Putin signed.

* North Korea and Russia intend to process future trades in Rubles.
