Turning to Russia for financial aid is highly looked down on by Greece. Greece being a country currently owing more then $270 billion to the 'Troika Of International Creditors' consisting of the: European Central Bank, European Union, International Monetary Fund.
Finance Minister, Yanis Varoufakis firmly speaks for Russia claiming Greece will not seek financial support.
Yanis Varoufakis (Greece Finance Minister) Statement:
“I can give a clear answer on this issue: this is not under discussion. We’ll never ask Moscow for financial aid.”
On the other hand, Russian Finance Minister, Anton Siluanov portrays that Russia are prepared to hold out a helping hand.
Anton Siluanov (Russian Finance Minister) Statement:
"Moscow would explore the possibility of providing financial aid to the Greek government if Athens requested for it"
A new government established in Greece intend to renegotiate the conditions of the bailout with Troika. It was only just last week that Varoufakis, declared that the Greek government will not comply with its bailout program nor cooperate with 'The Troika Of International Creditors' which can be segmented into many groups stated above.
