On the border of North Korea, China, Russia, an international tourist zone may be implemented.
In 2013, The Hunchun City government declared the idea, an idea which has attracted attention of many officials.

- North Korea being within a half-dead industry, this income resource achieved by international tourism which can be obtained from the project may be enough to revive it; North Korea - run many tourist programs, majority directed at Chinese markets.
Note - Management Model still in discussion for this tourism project.
In 1995, a UN project to make Tumen River Delta are free-trade zone, costing $30 billion.
Tumen river has a borderline between North Korea and China and having the North Korean-Russia border a stone throw away (few miles away). This Tourism zone will consist of a section from Hunchun city aswell as 30 km'2 of land given by these three countries in the joint project.
