Gazprom Changes Turkish Pipeline Plan



Gazprom recently disclosed that when the Turkish Stream pipeline is implemented and running, every year an additional 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas will be delivered to Turkey.

At first the plan of Russian Gazprom was to store 49 billion cubic meters of gas.
The total volume of gas supply to the turkey pipeline will remain at 63 billion cubic meters a year. The gas will be inhabited in a transmit hub between Turkey and Greece - from Greece Gas can be exploited to South Europe.

Statement From Gazprom:


"The design of the project will

take into account Turkey's rising demands for natural gas deliveries to the Istanbul region, therefore the volume of gas to be pumped to the gas hub on the Turkish-Greek border has been reset to 47 billion cubic meters." 

* This entirely new route will hold natural Russian gas across the Black sea/Turkey to Europe. Carrying 16 billion cubic meters. Remaining shall be pumped to the gas hub and supplied around Europe. Late 2016, is the expected date for the first leg of the pipeline to be built.

* Length of the pipeline will stretch 112 miles (180 kilometers). Landfall will be close to a village called 'Kayakoy'. Supplies of gas to turkey shall be unloaded by the town of 'Luleburgaz'.

The Turkey-bound gas increase was confirmed 8 Feb, Sat, 2015, Between Gazprom CEO and Turkish Energy Minister.
