Obama Stares At Oil Field's In The Atlantic

The Obama administration has disclosed multiple plans for the expansion of America’s energy sector through exploration.
In Washington, DC a five-year declaration was announced which could create the way for the US to soon drill for gas and oil amongst the Atlantic ocean. This would be the first time ever do drill in the Atlantic.

If this drilling is approved in its present current state, the intention of the Obama Administration would let the US to lease out multiple portions of the Atlantic to the oil industry.

On the contrary, some exclaim for a ban on this 'proposal'.
Those representing the Democratic Party including Cory Booker, Robert Menendez, and Frank Pallone – who said the plan "poses a serious threat to coastal communities throughout the region, and is the wrong approach to energy development in this country."
 - It shows there are ethical views which stand retaliating to this proposal.  The BP oil spill which infiltrated the Gulf Of Mexico during 2010, may act as the reason why some disapprove the proposal.

Statements ------
According to McClatchy, 'government officials believe 3.3 billion barrels of oil and 31.28 trillion cubic feet of natural gas exist off the Atlantic coast. In order to make any offshore operations viable, though, some say the price of crude oil must experience some significant changes.'
Interior Department officials said 'the opening of any Atlantic Ocean waters for prospective drilling would occur 50 miles offshore. Yet while the agency wants to see those resources tapped starting in 2017, Jewel, the Interior secretary, told the Times that inking the deal on a drilling lease might not come until after 2021' - Derived from NY times.
