Russia Wants To Put Their Hands In Mexico's Energy Sector

Beltran Says the energy sector in Mexico is "Very interesting for Russian Companies"- Energy giants: Rosneft, Gazprom, LUKoil portray their interest in oil projects within Mexico.

Statement By Ruben Beltran Guerrero (Mexican Ambassador):

“Russia is currently not investing heavily into projects in Mexico. But there are signals from some companies, such as, for example, LUKoil and Gazprom. They are interested in participating in Mexico’s energy sector, the decision will be made based on tender results.” - He told RIA Novosti.

- This may spark more corporate deals in Mexico, in the energy sector as-well as with other sectors.

State run oil companies have waited 80 years to make business deals with private companies as-well as to gain some interest in extraction to investment to storage of their oil. They have now been given permission. These State-run companies are the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and Pemex.

Due to this Mexico has undergone a complete transformation in their energy sector since December, 2013.
This has allowed discussion to take place, Russia getting in first by Lukoil signing a cooperation agreement with Pemex and Gazprom stepping back but are deeply interested.

There are Intentions for Russia energy giants to enforce oil projects just off these states: Campeche, Veracrus, Tabasco; development projects are due to start in June, 2015.

There has been a random spark of business between Russia and Mexico, it may be enough to say their relationships are very close,
It was only recently that Mexico Injerjet bought SSJ-100 planes from Russia. Read more here: http://www.innovativereport.com/2015/02/interjet-acquires-10-russian-ssj-100.html
